New Ball Machine Progress
« on: November 10, 2015, 05:02:27 am »
Hey all, I thought I'd provide a quick sneak peek as to what I've been up to with Knex as of late. This ball machine is the largest project I've ever undertook, and so far I have almost the entire base/floor done, with 3 lifts as well.

That sure is looking as if it will get quite large, looking awesome!

For those little parallel arms, did you have to offset them by a connector in order for the lift to work? I had to do that every time I used that lift ;)
This is a signature.

So far it's worked almost 100% without me doing that, although I did offset the bottom arm.

I'm open to hearing ideas anyone has for the machine, I have a prototype for a new lift but that's about it aside from what the picture shows. So far I'm just kinda building without a plan.

I like the different levels of the white flooring it looks like you have a lot of space under them maybe you could incorporate something under them to fill in that space all the way to the floor?
 but looking gd so far!

Thanks! You may be able to see a small hole in the floor which leads to a path underneath that goes to the arm lift in the front, although thats the only path under the floor as of now. I was thinking perhaps a path could build some speed and wind around the supports underneath the base and jump back out somewhere..

Yh I like ball machines that use all of the space available and a re nice and compact but I guess that's just my opinion.
I have done the same in my new ball machine however my flooring is at chest height to me XD the path is like a half loop into the flooring
