Back with my FEL trash truck
« on: September 01, 2020, 03:08:49 am »
It's been a while since I joined in March but I finished my model Heil Front End Loading Garbage truck! I did it back in May but never got around to posting it. It was a great first project and taught me a lot about how to make mechanical models that move and work. All of the functions of a real FEL garbage truck work on it including tailgate, packer, forks and arms, engine, driveshaft and rear dual axle.

That's almost complete! Where the yellow gear turns the axle gear, it should also turn another gear on the opposite side of the input gear, and the two halves of that axle should be decoupled. That would incorporate a differential system.
