Cyber K'NEX Bobcat / Skid Steer--> View Instruction
This instructable will show you how to make a
remote-controlled Bobcat or by some called a
Skid Steer Loader
from K'NEX!
I've made this model for the K'NEX
to demonstrate how compact you can build with the Cyber K'NEX system. This is a system that uses an "intelligent" processor unit, to which motors are attached. It may be hard to get the parts if you don't have the
Cyber K'NEX Ultra set from 2002. You can somtimes find the complete set for 100-200$ on Ebay.
This model also relies on the use of a custom
3D-printed worm gear, which makes it possible that the bucket of the model can be raised and lowered. Normally this requires big amounts of torque, which the K'NEX motors cannot deliver. The worm gear, slows down the rotational movement, while increasing the torque on the axle of the following red gear. This is then again slowed down by a gear reduction of 1 : 2,4 to reach the axle of the bucket.
There is
no video of the model working, it had run out of batteries.
The steps are as followed:- Parts needed
- Chassis
- Rear end - Lower part
- Rear end - Upper part
- Shovel & Finishing up
- Controlling the model
If you have
questions or
suggestion regarding the model, please place them in the comment section and I'll try to answer them as quick as possible.
Happy building!
